The Joy and Fun of Watching High Stakes Poker on Television

After running for several successful seasons, High Stakes Poker has already made it big into the poker mainstream, reaching innumerable households in no time with its unique blend of exciting poker action and non-stop fun. It has proven how joyful it is to watch poker games on television, mainly because viewers can actually see the hands of all the participating poker players, as well as how they can play effectively or ineffectively against each other. The colorful presentation of the different games, as well as the rich roster of pure poker talents that it features, are just some of the main reasons why this poker television program has been endeared into the hearts of millions of television viewers worldwide.

Held at the fascinating Golden Nugget Las Vegas, the very first season of the show began what would become one of the most successful major poker events on television. In an effort to follow through its brilliant start, the organizers of this event taped another full season at The Palms Casino Resort in Nevada. After two great years of providing highly competitive poker competitions between the finest players of the game, a third season was held at the very beautiful and fascinating South Point Hotel and Casino. After a wonderful hosting of this huge television spectacle, High Stakes Poker seems to have found a home and decided to hold its fourth season at the same location for the second straight year.

After the fourth season finally ended in May 2007, this poker television program has already accumulated a total of 56 action-packed and tension-filled episodes, creating a vast collection of outstanding and world-class poker competitions. In their desire to attract more and more audience, the event provided something new and much better after each successful year. At the fourth and most recent season of the show, a special event wherein players would have to buy their way into the tournament by paying a minimum of $500,000 was initialized, living up to its name as a truly high stakes poker event. Because of this, there became a time when more than $5 million were at stake in a single major event for the show.

Just like the World Series of Poker and the World Poker Tour, High Stakes Poker became a major event where lots and lots of money are at stake. At the same time, it featured some of the most respected and feared names in the game, which include the likes of Daniel Negreanu, Phil Ivey, and Jennifer Harman. Furthermore, the rising stars of poker were not excluded from this event, including huge names like Jamie Gold, Paul Wasicka, and Chris Ferguson into the line-up. The event also showed its continued support to various outstanding individuals who have showed consistency in their styles of play, featuring the likes of Eli Elezra, Sam Farha, and Barry Greenstein.
