Todd Brunson: A Mainstay in High Stakes Poker From Season 1 to 4

Following the footsteps of his father Doyle Brunson, who is unquestionably one of the most reputable poker players of all time, Todd Brunson attended High stakes poker in each of its four seasons to gain some significant experience and partake in highly competitive poker games. While his father is more known for the world poker titles that he won, Todd excels more in cash games. Although he is the son of a certified poker legend, Todd started late in the field of poker.

Despite the lack of experience, Brunson was a natural, learning the game as fast as he could and participating in huge poker tournaments in no time. Aside from High Stakes Poker, he also participated in three of the biggest events in poker, namely the World Series of Poker, the World Poker Tour, and the European Poker Tour. Overall, he has a lot to brag in terms of the quality and the level of competition that he attended.

In the World Series of Poker, Brunson spent the majority of his career competing in its various world poker tournaments. His biggest break came in 2005, where he won his one and only World Series of Poker bracelet so far by winning the $2,500 Omaha Hi/Lo event. This impressive win not only gave him his very first world poker title, instead it also helped him eradicate the ghosts of the past especially when he is being compared with his father Doyle, along with all his huge accomplishments on the international poker scene.

Besides his breakthrough year in 2005, Todd Brunson has already accumulated numerous great feats in the World Series of Poker. Considering all his impressive money finishes, the count can go as high as 20 overall, finishing each tournament with great class and pride. This astonishing feat earned him the respect, not only of his critics, but also from the rest of the poker world. In the World Poker Tour, Brunson has already had five impressive money finishes, while in the European Poker Tour he had one.

No one would be more happier with all the achievements Todd has reached on top of the poker table than his father Doyle, who sought his help in writing one of the most influential books in the game of poker for all times. In Doyle's book entitled "Super/System II," Todd excellently wrote the entire Stud Hi/Lo portion, making his contributions to the whole poker world by providing some professional insights into the game.
